Fashion Forward Season 2 features catwalk presentations, industry talks and networking opportunities.
Fashion Forward (FFWD) aims to be the biggest and most definitive fashion event in the Middle East. Hosted bi-annually to showcase regional designers’ shows alongside forums, talks and panel discussions.
FFWD’s mission is to drive the fashion industry in the Middle East forward through participation of the top regional designers and inspirational speakers from around the world.
The Middle East’s Fashion Market
Bain & Company in their 2013 “Luxury Goods Worldwide Market Study” says that the Worldwide luxury goods market revenues will grow as much as 50 percent faster than global GDP, with an expectation of four to five percent growth in 2013 and five to six percent annual average through 2015, on track to break the €250 (US$341) billion sales threshold by mid-decade.
Despite the economic slowdown in 2011, composite retail revenue soared for companies based in Africa/Middle East and the region remains one of the primary targets for new market entry, says Deloitte in their ‘Global Powers of Retailing 2013‘ report.
The Middle East luxury market is growing at a steady pace, and with the wealthy Russians, Indians and Africans flocking to Dubai for their luxury goods shopping, Dubai continues as the center of gravity and the only city attracting foreign luxury consumers, according to Bain and Company.
Dubai commands around 30 per cent of Middle East luxury market and around 60 per cent of the UAE’s luxury market, with The Dubai Mall accounting for around 50 per cent of Dubai’s luxury purchases.
