Dubai’s award winning Infinity Tower to open Monday, June 10th, 2013.
Much of the future we envisioned as children was influenced by George Jetson, his boy Elroy, daughter Judy, Jane, his wife and of course, the world they lived in. From flying cars, to robot maids, to buildings that defied gravity, everything in the Jetsons world symbolised a milestone achievement by the human race.
While we may still be waiting for flying cars, or desperately yearn for a robot who would tend to our needs 24/7, the concept of a futuristic building is closer to reality.
Behold the Infinity Tower!
Built in the Dubai Marina, the award-winning 1 billion dirhams (USD 271 million) building, which twists 90 degrees through its 76 above-ground floors, is scheduled for inauguration on Monday, June 10th, 2013.
The Infinity Tower is a project of Cayan Investment and Development and its launch is coming after the company received the Dubai Municipality’s certificate of completion. The project has been in the pipeline since 2007, but owing to some unfortunate circumstances and other factors, the project faced delays as it marched towards completion.
Ahmed M. Al Hatti; “Infinity Tower has been built according to the highest international standards for towers and that won it several international awards. The Tower has received ‘Best Architecture’ award in London’s International Property Awards as well as four Arab Real Estate Awards in Dubai.
The Tower was designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill, otherwise known for projects such as Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Trump Tower in Chicago and Jin Mao in Shanghai. It is a 75-storey tower, rising at approximately 310 meters which makes it the highest twisted tower in the entire world.” — Ahmed M. Al Hatti, President and Chairman of the Board of Cayan Group
