E-registration of tenancy contracts and leasable properties will be compulsory in the emirate from November 1 as the Abu Dhabi Municipality will start the full implementation of Tawtheeq project.
All leasable properties and tenancy contracts have to be registered under Tawtheeq?s e-system in order for tenants to avail hassle-free services from the strategic partners of the project. From inception early this year, the Tawtheeq system has been quite attractive to the customers with the number of registered units exceeding 45,000 so far.
The project is being implemented by activating strategic partnerships with the Department of Transport, Department of Economic Development and Abu Dhabi Distribution Company.
The municipality urged property management companies to expedite the registration of properties they manage under the Tawtheeq system in implementation of the decision of the Executive Council, Abu Dhabi, No (4) for 2011 regarding the rules and regulations of registering tenancy contracts in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Owaidah Al Qubaisi, Acting Executive Director of Municipal Services Sector, called on all property management companies to expedite the registration of their leasable properties with the project, stating that companies which fail to complete registration will experience unnecessary difficulties in processing their transactions and availing essential services integral to their interests.
?Registration in Tawtheeq will be a pre-condition for processing tenancy contracts and, in future, it will be a key requirement for processing transactions of relevance to strategic partners among other departments, agencies and bodies concerned,? Al Qubaisi said.
Coordination and activation of partnerships with the bodies concerned is currently underway with the aim of providing excellent services to customers and simplify procedures to ensure the best standards for delivering quality services to customers.
Ali Al Hashimi, Head of Tawtheeq Section at the municipality, said, ?The Tawtheeq system ensures that property management companies will enjoy handy procedures which include opening of an account with the municipality of Abu Dhabi City, registering details of leasable properties, registering details of tenants currently occupying existing units, and using the system for all rental transactions such as issuance of new contracts, renewal and cancellation of contracts, and amendment of contracts among other services.?
The municipality is currently coordinating the activation of Tawtheeq project with more than 15 related bodies, Al Hashimi said.
