Boasting the highest Ferris Wheel in the region, the Etisalat-Eye of the Emirates is the most visible landmark in Al Qasba, and is one of the largest observation wheels in the region. The 60-metre high wheel gives visitors an aerial view of the Emirate’s tourist landmarks and the surrounding landscape — including parts of Dubai and the Persian Gulf Coast from its 42 air-conditioned cabins.

The tourist attraction marked over 59000 visitors in the first half of 2013, as compared to the 54000 visitors reported in the first half of 2012.

Sultan Mohamed Shattaf; “Etisalat Eye of the Emirates Wheel is one of the most prominent tourist landmarks in Sharjah and the Emirates. The Ferris wheel is recording an annual growth in number of visitors since its opening to public. It is also attracting more residents and tourists excited to take a panoramic view of the magnificent cultural and tourism attractions in Sharjah from a height of 60 metres.” — Sultan Mohamed Shattaf, Al Qasba Manager

Shattaf listed efforts to develop tourism within the region and the existing, prestigious position of Al Qasba in the local and regional tourism market as contributing factors to the success.

Sultan Mohamed Shattaf; “Al Qasba visitors are provided with a range of entertaining activities as part of the family oriented tourism product throughout the year and are a source of prime attraction for people to visit this high profile tourist landmark in the Emirate.”
