Arabian Gazette team tests out the Friday Brunch at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi
Little did we realize what we were in for when we were led to the brunch area of Fairmont Bab Al Bahr.
The place was teeming with people. As you walk in you are met with tables on both sides with a lavish spread serving caviar, poached crab legs, oysters, prawns. Also along the corridor were live cooking stations like the shawarma stand, pasta made fresh and tossed with your favorite choice of sauce, tenderloin steak which was the dish of the day, and the juicy and succulent roasted chicken courtesy Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill
The Friday Brunch actually is a combination of three restaurants at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, with a variety of 200 dishes that can keep you busy indulging in a 4-hour gastronomic journey.
Featuring succulent steaks from Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill, New York-Italian favourites at the newly-opened Marco’s New York Italian alongside a lavish International selections at CuiScene, there is something for everyone to feast on at this lively family-friendly brunch.
We started with roasted root vegetable soup, which was warm and comforting. The choice of salads were aplenty. But what we really liked was the vegan section. An array of super healthy choices including our favourite Chia seeds.
Next, we tried some of the artisan cheese and relished on their distinct, but rich taste.
The artistic Japanese counter, loaded with Salmon and Tuna options, had different varieties of sushi, shashimi and nigiri – all of which tasted simply out of this world.
Grilled lobsters, tiger prawns, lamb chops, kebab and Peking ducks were available from Pitmaster’s grill.
If you are a meat lover, Marco Pierre White’s carvery station is a must-try featuring signature roast beef and tasty, tender chicken.
Another favourite was the pizza station, where you can customize the pizza your way.
But the brunch doesn’t just end here.
Chocolate fountain, cakes, pastries, pudding, custard, ice cream and more will tantalize your taste buds. This is why water, soft drinks and fresh juices are included so you can indulge in as many sweets as you like. There are also packages with free-flowing vines and bubbles.
In short, there’s something for everyone at this lively family-friendly feast.
Children are well-entertained too. The Kidz Factory is available every Friday to ensure that little ones are engaged. Live performances from the hotel’s resident DJ compliments the social atmosphere making your brunch experience even more memorable. For those who wish to stay longer, the after-brunch party at Chameleon Terrace is the next destination.
The food is excellent in both quality and variety, and memorable without being pretentious. It’s exciting, elegant and the feast is celebration worthy.
We returned with a full stomach and great weekend feeling. It was a Friday well spent!
