Ever since Dubai announced its plans for ‘Dubai Design District’ with the aim to make the city the Fashion Capital of the Middle East, the Emirate has been working hard to bring out various fashion related programmes.
Dubai, having well established as the favourite holiday destination and shopping paradise, has set their ambitions to get into the growing fashion scene – which is only a natural choice for the ever-ambitious city.
With events both large and small taking place around Dubai, there is something for even the choosiest of fashionistas.
The Harper’s Bazaar World of Fashion – happening at Mall of the Emirates from 3-14 October, will showcase the latest trends in latest Autumn/Winter collection. Free for all to attend, the luxury shopping event, now in its fifth year, features a series of catwalk shows, exhibitions and competitions.

Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience – Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience will bring together an unprecedented 250 fashion brands in an extended retail and lifestyle celebration at The Dubai Mall on 10th October elevating the city’s stature as one of the top international style destinations.
Guests can enjoy a fashion show at the Fashion Catwalk in the Fashion Avenue where international designers will showcase their latest collections. There will also be an exhibition of 50 of the best Vogue magazine covers of all time in the Grand Atrium. Participating stores will have various items for sale, created especially for the ‘Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience’ with part of the proceeds going towards Dubai Cares, the charity initiative founded by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Fashion Forward 2013 – Is for anyone passionate about fashion. The show is back for the second year running and is a must visit for Fashionistas. Taking place at Madinat Jumeirah from 15-18 October, there will be talks, panels and workshops with the region’s most established and emerging designers as well as some of the leading fashion icons in the UAE. The event aims to develop a dynamic, sustainable fashion platform for the Middle East.
