The Abu Dhabi Investment Forum, recently held in Paris and organized by Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development attracted global interest and successfully highlighted the many investment opportunities available in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Over 200 business people and investors from around the world participated in the event. The six-panel discussion forum was used by government departments, institutions and authorities to highlight investment opportunities in Abu Dhabi.
Investors were particularly welcomed in sectors of education, energy, business and finance, oil and gas, logistics, transport and tourism. The government also tried to address some of the challenges and concerns that were raised by the investors.
The investment forum was seen as a great platform to meet business leaders and major international companies to underscore the opportunities offered by Abu Dhabi. With the government spending large sums in development of infrastructure and other sectors, Abu Dhabi has garnered investor interest from all over the world and is now viewed as an attractive investment destination.
Mohamed Hassan Al Qamzi, CEO of the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones (ZonesCorp), commented that the corporation was keen to play its role in attracting foreign investment to the Emirate. He believed that Abu Dhabi offered lucrative opportunities and world-class facilities to investors, including advanced infrastructure and best international standards. Further, these facilities were available at a competitive rate. The development of new investment zones and areas by ZonesCorp, such as Motor City and Workers Residential Cities, were also showcased as major achievements.
According to Huda Al Matroushi, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce Board Member, the forum was a great opportunity for young investors and entrepreneurs to learn about new growth avenues in the market. Such forums can play an instrumental role in promoting entrepreneurship and setting up of small and medium-sized enterprises by UAE investors. These businesses can then help promote the UAE brand across the French market and build successful investment partnerships.
