Last year, The HONOR 8X was one of the brand’s most successful devices having sold over 15 Million units worldwide. The device was given a plethora of awards for its unique design and innovation. HONOR has always believed in offering flagship specs and innovation to the masses.
Even back in 2015, HONOR was among the first brands to launch a mid-tier phone called the 5X with a fingerprint reader. Back then that was a big deal.
With the 9X, HONOR has focused on three different elements namely Design, Camera and Experience. With a unique form factor, HONOR calls it their “Dynamic X” design with Dual 3D Curves for a solid grip.
The phone that will be available in two colors Saphire Blue and Midnight Black has a very eye-catchy premium look to it. But that’s not the main highlight of the phone. The real deal is the pop-up front camera which allows the phone to have a notch free display and make the device look uber futuristic. Think about it, who wouldn’t want a 91% screen to body ratio 6.59-inch smartphone. The pop-up camera is also advanced in its own way with features like fall detection, downward protection and dust & splash resistance.
I mean this is a significant leap from the punch hole display found the View20 and the Sliding Display mechanism found on the Magic series.
The Screen is also HDR Compliant so you’re going to have a great time watching all those shows and playing all those games. Seriously, they’ve tied up with some of the top gaming developers of titles like “Free Fire” on the ‘Play Store’ to ensure the performance of the device isn’t sluggish thanks to its GPU Turbo 3.0 technologies.
The display is also certified by TÜV Rheinland to ensure your eyes remain protected from harmful blue light.
The phone packs a 48 Megapixel Primary, 8MP Ultra-Wide and 2MP Depth Sensor. With a 120-degree field of few, consumers can expect to capture photos with a lot of detail. HONOR 9X is also capable of shooting low light portraits thanks to the inbuilt artificial intelligence which also comes in handy for stabilization.
From a performance perspective, the device sports an Octa-Core processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage built in. Storage can also be expanded up to 512GB which is a big deal if you are a content creator or run an office on the go.
HONOR has also opted to use their proprietary EROFS File Saving System to ensure maximum efficiency without occupying much storage space.
One can also expect all day battery life thanks to the built in 4000 mAh battery.
The company explained the strict quality control that went into the design process of the device. A video was shown to the media where the phone was subject to Salt/Sand Exposure, Button Testing, Performance in varying temperatures in both hot and cold, Impact tests demonstrating drops from different heights, bend test, signal tests, the list just kept going on and on so you can be rest assured you’re definitely getting a solidly durable device.
The device is expected to have its pre-orders start on 31st October and the first sale to start on the 7th of November. The device will be priced at AED 999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model.

The band is also among the first wearables in the market to natively support the Arabic language. This feature will be added to the device later on via an OTA Update.

Apart from the above-mentioned features, The band is also capable of controlling music, giving idle alert notifications, finding your phone and many more.

The earphones use a flexible neck band design with silicone earbuds that is comfortable to wear and also feels of premium build quality. The earbuds come in three different sizes so there’s an option available for everyone.
In terms of sound quality, the earphones use a 13mm driver with polymer plating that ensures crispy audio with good bass. Another cool feature that was demonstrated was the smart magnetic earbuds. When they’re removed from your ears and attached magnetically together, the audio automatically stops.
With regards to battery life, HONOR says the earphones are capable of 18 Hours of Music and 12 Hours of Phone Calls. About 5 minutes of charge should give you 4 hours of playback thanks to the USB C Charging Capability.
The HiPair functionality makes it easy to pair the device to Huawei and HONOR’s line of devices just by connecting the earphones once to the phone’s USB C port. Working out with these is also taken care of as the earphones are IPX5 water resistance so sweat isn’t going to be a problem.
