The French Finance Minister, Chrisitine Lagarde who is trying for the International Monetary Fund?s (IMF) head job has secured the confidence of UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.
Lagarde, one of the three declared candidates for the post, said in Cairo that she has gained support from Bahrain and some other countries that she didn?t identify. Lagarde has met with the Egyptian officials during her visit to the North African country as a part of her campaign.
Lagarde, France’s finance minister is backed by the European Union and a handful of smaller countries from Georgia to Mauritius. Paris is hopeful that Washington and Beijing will also stand behind her.
