‘Fusion of retail and lifestyle’
Mr. Bader Abdullah Al-Darwish Chairman of Darwish Holding said, “A labor of love for Darwish Holding, Lagoona is really the future which we envisioned for Qatar’s retail industry. When the idea of Lagoona first came to light, we made sure to craft a shopping concept which will bring home an attractive fusion of retail and lifestyle combined with the elements that make this development truly unique given its fabulous natural surroundings. When we first envisioned Lagoona, we wanted it to be a retail experience beyond the ordinary.”
“Lagoona is still a work in progress with a host of other stores planned for the future; however, life within is taking shape beautifully. Lagoona will certainly change the way shopping is perceived making the mall not just a destination but also a revelation,” he added.
Mr. Ron Meiers, Lagoona Management Consultant said, “The great thing about Lagoona is the fact that it has attracted a host of internationally-renowned brands which are showcased for the very first time in Qatar. Lagoona will be truly a unique shopping destination and a great retail avenue for those brand-names that are looking for elegant and beautiful surroundings at Qatar’s upcoming throbbing business, residential and retail heart.”
With a unique air of timeless elegance and a new philosophy in style and structure, Lagoona is a sophisticated lifestyle experience and is poised to be the place to be seen for Qatar’s affluent, well-heeled society.
Lagoona will be earmarked with ultra-luxurious interior finishing and furniture featuring luminous coves for a ceiling and embedded with skylight feature and race-track designed floors. Lagoona’s cornerstone will be a fully-landscaped, European-style Piazza dotted with up to sixteen fine dining avenues, outdoor patios seating area, decorated sculptural canopies and wood pergolas. Lagoona will also allow its visitors overall great access with over 2,000 parking facilities.
Lagoona will be home to Qatar’s most luxurious multi-brand store, Fifty One East, the biggest of its kind in the Middle East region.
“We’d like to see the Lagoona brand grow. Perhaps in a few years there will be a Lagoona Bahrain, or a Lagoona Abu Dhabi, so we’d like to take this concept and grow it.Dohais on the edge of a large boom. It’s a very forward, progressive and comfortable place to live and it really is growing in leaps and bounds,” said Ronald Dinelle, the project’s general manager, as reported by Retail News Middle East, in 2007, when Lagoona was in its construction phase.
