Unlike a traditional museum, ‘Museum of Illusions’ in Al Seef, Dubai is where you get to see some of the coolest, thought-provoking and unique exhibits on display.
Let’s face it. Dubai will never fail to impress us. It’s either the world’s biggest this, or the world’s first that. Every day this city will have something new to offer. But what about something really interesting & quirky, filled with brain teasers, illusion rooms, puzzles and optical illusion? You know to flaunt on your social media pages and leave everyone with a confused look on their face as to what is going on!
That’s where the ‘Museum of Illusions’ in Al Seef comes into the picture. Not only is this a place for fun but you also get to learn a lot of things in the process. The museum is an intriguing, visual, sensual and educational experience. It’s pretty much a ‘funtabulous’ setup.
The place has a lot of weird and mind-fooling exhibits. Optical illusions and tricks that are certainly going to leave you thrilled at the premises. Comprising of over 80 exhibits, you are definitely getting a bang for the buck. The museum is actually a part of an international museum chain that first debuted in Zagreb in Croatia and each of their exhibits have always been known to have a story to tell.
Visitors are encouraged to interact with all the exhibits which are quite unconventional compared to regular museums as it just makes the overall experience all the more immersive. Of course, it also comes down to whether you can get some killer Instagram shots and you can trust us with this. It definitely is.
The Museum of Illusions in Dubai takes you on a social and entertaining journey into a magical realm which delights all generations. It’s a perfect place for new experiences, fun with friends and family. It is not only a place for children to play and learn but also for parents, couples, grandmothers and grandfathers.
Some of the highlights of the museum include the ‘Vortex Tunnel’ which is a cylinder that rotates to mess your brain into thinking that you’re in an infinite loop of never-ending twirls. It legit makes you feel like the ground is shifting.
Next on the list is the Ames Room which again plays games with your brain. Guests step into different corners of the room only to be perceived as a giant and a tiny person. This was definitely one of our favourites.
The upside down room is probably the most Instagram worthy from the lot as it makes you look like you’re in a spider-man movie climbing on the walls and the roof. We had quite the laugh trying to capture the perfect footage.
Tip: we strongly recommend to go with your friends and family as there will be plenty of photo opportunities and you will need their help to get that perfect shot!
Children seem to love the colours room since there’s a rainbow aura around your shadow. Just makes it all the more mesmerizing for them.
It’s clear that the museum of illusions has chosen exhibits that will have the greatest appeal among local residents and international guests. With a wide range of exhibits for guests of all ages, the museum is a fun-filled experience for everyone.
Although the AED 80 per person entry fee is a bit on the higher side, there are decent discounts if you go as a group.
