Apple confirms release of its next generation smartphone?the iPhone 5. ?According to reliable sources, the iPhone 5 is much lighter and thinner than its predecessor. If leaks are to be believed, then?the smartphone will be launched in September.
According to Wall Street Journal source, Apple has placed an order for around 25 million units of iPhone 5 from the supply chain, which should be ready in August.
iPhone 5 is upgraded with an 8 megapixels camera. An iPhone 5 News Blog report, in May, indicated a dual camera sensor array on the next version of iPhone. Apple filed a patent application related to 3D picture taking with the US Patent and Trademark Office later in March. The filing described a system that would be capable of capturing, processing, and rendering 3D images with the additional dual-camera hardware.
The smartphone will contain a dual core A5 processor used in iPad.
There were no reports available on the screen size or shape, but fresh leaks suggest that the smartphone will be slightly bigger in display and curved in order to fit better the user?s face.
The device is reportedly getting assembled at Hon Hai, which is a Taiwanese company that handles all of Apple?s products.
