Meraas’ work on the site over the summer now sees it return with a Majlis that has kindled a thriving local community in the area where locals and visitors come together to share and learn the history of Hatta. Further, boutique shops selling locally-made arts and crafts, Hatta-made honey, a heritage store and a local restaurant have been added to the site to give visitors a sensory feel for what local village life was like for Emiratis hundreds of years ago in Dubai’s historic area.
