The first RAK Women in Business Forum 2012 opened this week to women of excellence from across the UAE whom are seeking investment and networking opportunities in the country.
The last decade has seen a tremendous increase in the number of women not only venturing into entrepreneurship, but also leadership positions and prestigious roles across the UAE.
As a consequence, the role of women has grown to that of business leaders, entrepreneurs and visionary thought leaders.
Launched by the RAK Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the 1st RAK Women in Business Forum 2012, connects women professionals from across the UAE to discuss aspects of leadership, innovation and opportunities for a sustainable economic future. The forum’s panel discussion also featured leading women from the emirate such as Maryam Al Murshedi Al Shehhi from the RAK Free zone and Kathrin Gnilka , the Director of Business Development Tourism Development Authority Government of Ras Al Khaimah – who also shared their knowledge on Social media, branding and Emiratization programs.
Event Organizer and Moderator of the event, TV news Anchor and CEO of Straight Street Media in Dubai, Hermoine Macura explained that the Forum is not only a valuable avenue for networking, but also for business opportunities in the emirate. “RAK has always been on the forefront of pushing forward new enterprise and initiatives, and sees the future value of such a forum that promotes enterprise and economic growth, especially within the female community.”
The value of any country is never below its soil, but above it in the minds of its people. The interest and investment into such a large segment of the population for future development and participation in growth is something the Chamber of Commerce has been focusing on for some time.
His Excellency Yousef Obaid Al Neaimi, Chairman of the RAK Chamber was thrilled by the number of visitors and opportunities present at the event. “The Women In Business Forum 2012 is one of many initiatives that are necessary to create a sustainable ecosystem for entrepreneurship. We hope to see both private and public sectors continue their efforts to provide platforms, resources, time and knowledge to our future successful entrepreneurs, to take RAK to new heights.
