UAE has always redefined the limits of what is possible and what isn’t. From snow resorts to the largest flower garden in the world, it has defied the laws of geography and climatic influences, when it comes to entertainment and luxury. So it doesn’t come as a surprise when, like its exotic contemporaries in the Mediterrenean and the West, Dubai, despite its desert terrain has taken full advantage of its azure coastline, to host one of the most awaited luxury boat shows in the region.
The Dubai International Boat Show is in its 21st year, and this year showcases some of the most stellar displays in luxury marine event ever. With 49 countries participating, 403 boats are on display and 19 luxurious superyachts vying for attention.
The Superyacht boulevard is like a millionaire’s dream come true. As you walk along the promenade, you realize that this is where millionaires will hang out in future, probably sipping on their margueritas under the sun, in the middle of the sea. The price tags after a while don’t intimidate you anymore. You realize that the yacht market, like every indulgent artificially created market, is for privileged indulgence. And there’s no dearth of demand for it.
Super yachts at the boulevard are boats longer than 23 metres. The show stopper that catches your attention is definitely the Italian built 40 metre long beauty, SANLORENZO 40 ALLOY, with its breathtakingly intimidating aluminium design and plush interiors. Priced at Dh91 million, the Luxury yacht 111 boasts of beautiful interiors made of the rarest and most precious materials, such as limestone Malyat, which can be found in the bathrooms or the prominent woods such as olive and burned oak used for the furniture.
Among special features of the highly innovative 40 Alloy superyacht 111 is the pilot-house gull-wing doors on the upper deck, or the amazing bathing terraces that can be opened to the sea closely to the main saloon zone or towards bow where the master cabin as well as the gym are situated.
Buyer profiles have changed drastically over the years. Previously most potential buyers would simply look for design style of the boat over anything else during the event, but now customer demand has changed. Wealthy Buyers are looking for comfort and luxury rather than speed. There’s no doubt that the Dubai International Boat Show has attracted most of the Superyacht global players, affirming the region’s growing demand for luxury yachts and boats. It has thus become a playground for the rich and famous around the world.
The yacht show will also premiere 33 world and regional launches, making the event the largest on water exhibition in the Middle East.
The Supercar Promenade gives visitors the chance to marvel at some of the world’s most exclusive cars on the planet, but only after they have had their fill of boats! In this specially designated area of the yacht show dozens of the world’s most luxurious cars will be displayed including McLaren, Bentley and Brabus. The Supercar Promenade, now regarded as the most exclusive automobile event at the superyacht show, also allows car lovers the chance to get behind the wheel of their dream machine.
The Dubai International Boat Show will also showcase new and exciting products from a large range of equipment suppliers and services as well as renowned international and local interior designers, luxury boat builders and luxury product suppliers.
