Spread the love

Looking for Asian hospitality in the Middle East? Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi is the place to be!

Dusit Thani is a Thai phrase that means “A Garden in Heaven.”

Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi offers a fine Thai-inspired hospitality in the capital and heart of the United Arab Emirates.

Our Experience

Based on our experience, it is safe to say that Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi is the only hotel in the capital city that offers graciousness in Thai Hospitality.

Right from the welcome drink to the architecture to the room decor, it spells Asian sensibilities.

For nothing do they call Thailand the land of smiles and Dusit Thani brings those smiles to us in many innumerable ways throughout the stay.

Something unique we found about Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi is that it’s a luxury hotel offering great value for money. So, this could be a perfect choice if you prefer a longer stay.

There are some great reviews about the hotel on top review sites like TripAdvisor.com, Booking.com and Agoda.com.

With its prominent glass tower, Dubai Thani Abu Dhabi presents a fresh and innovative architectural design.

This relatively brand new property has a supermarket on the ground floor and hotel apartments in the block behind. The main tower has a glass front and looks very elegant. The decor of the restaurants is a bit dark but could be a respite in summers.

The state of the art Sky Dome in the convention area is another unique attraction in this hotel.

Although traffic in Abu Dhabi is much less crazy than Dubai, the corniche area in Abu Dhabi where most of the luxury hotels are located is one of the busiest areas in the city. Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi, however, is located in the new government district, close to the Eastern Mangroves, Abu Dhabi’s lush natural habitat, the Corniche, the city’s iconic seaside promenade, and the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Therefore, the location is perfect in case you are looking for a more quieter neighbourhood. On the downside, there are no big malls that you can take a stroll to.

Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi geo location co-ordinates: 24.455242, 54.394676

That said, it is a good base for discovering the city, within 15 minutes you can get almost everywhere by cab, if it is Corniche Beach, Sheik Zayed Mosque, Marina Mall, Al Maryah, Saadiyat or Yas island or ADNEC, where a host of top conferences takes place.

The breakfast spread at Urban Kitchen is massive and one of the best in variety that we have come across, with Continental, Indian, Arabic and even Sushi varieties. It is a must-have. Apart from that there are two other fine dining restaurants, the Tai restaurant Benjarong being the best and the Urban Kitchen coming close second. The Capital Grill is another award winning restaurant famous for steaks.

1. Exterior

The first thing anyone will notice by even passing by the area is the huge tall structure of the hotel, with it’s Atrium the third highest in the world.

Featuring a glass atrium and Thai-style touches, this five star hotel is 7 km from Abu Dhabi Mall and 12 km from the iconic Corniche, a seafront promenade.

On the 23rd floor there is 10 meter outdoor swimming pool for adults and another smaller one for kids. In addition, there is jacuzzi, bar, sun beds with towels provided. This is also a good view point to catch the beautiful sunset over the city.

2. Lobby

The lobby was pleasantly spacious and allowed lots of natural light, which I’m a big fan of. Most noticeable was the atrium grand pillars with beautiful walls that were painted and decorated nicely – in typical Thai style.

3. Rooms

I was lucky to be accommodated in one of the highest floors and the view from the top is amazing, especially the city side and the mangroves.

The rooms are designed in classic style with touch of Thai traditions, furnished with top quality fabrics giving them the luxury feel.

The room is spacious, clean and has the most comfortable king size bed I have ever slept in!

The bathrooms are adequately spacious, neat and clean. One side of the bathroom wall is glass which lets you watch TV while you are in the bathtub. Kinda cool!

All rooms and suites are furnished and equipped with walk-in showers (some with baths), High-definition flat-screen television with all the channels, high-speed WiFi, hairdryer, safe-box, iron & ironing board, bottled water, coffee maker and posh bathrobes.

4. Food

With choice of Thai, Indian and Continental restaurants one can easily say that the hotel caters to most taste buds.

The Capital Grill restaurant won the prestigious “What’s On Dining Award 2017” in the category of “Favourite Steakhouse”.

The signature steaks namely, Australian Wagyu, Irish John Stone and Black Angus Tenderloin bring out an incredible culinary finesse at the restaurant where the dishes are prepared live in front of the guests’ eyes.

The food at the award-winning Benjarong serves top class authentic Thai cuisine which is not only super tasty but also healthy.

Dusit Thani has an array of world-class restaurants serve delicacies to satisfy any palate.

5. Namm Spa & DFiT Gym

A host of facilities and services, including Namm Spa and DFiT Fitness centre, allow guests to nurture their well-being.

Namm Spa was crowned with the prestigious World Luxury Spa Award 2017 in the category of the “Best Luxury Boutique Spa” in the Middle East.

Namm, pronounced “Narm” is a Thai word that signifies” water’ -the most essential element of life associated with healing- embraces the Thai wellness philosophy of four spa elements: Natural, Aroma, Massage and Marine. This unique concept of healing through water has inspired the creation of Namm spa at Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi.

At Namm Spa, the well-trained Thai therapists will definitely erase the stress of modern life and rejuvenate your mind, body and soul. Each specialized treatment is designed to pamper your senses and redefine your inner balance and outer beauty.

One of the highlights at Namm Spa is “Thai Heritage Therapy program” that combines the essence of Thai therapy to bring body into our equilibrium, using Hermit’s Body Twist technique, aromatherapy and Thai apothecary formula.

The DFiT fitness centre is huge and well equipped with modern equipments. Apart from this, the hotel has recently unveiled a new set of Zumba Gold and Indoor Cycling sessions under the supervision of Ms. Tammy Habib, a well-known fitness instructor.

I had a wonderful stay enjoying Thai hospitality at Hotel Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi. The staff were courteous and always smiling, and the PR Manager Mr. Vivek Suri who gave me a tour of the hotel was friendly and professional. I thoroughly enjoyed the service, amenities and the food at the hotel.

One thing that I can assure you based my stay at Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi is that the hotel offers five star Thai hospitality right here in UAE. So, go on and make a booking now if you feel like experience some fantastic ‘Thai’ness !
