Lush. Winter. Collection. Nothing. But. Pure. Awesomeness.

Arabian Gazette’s Aman Ali reviews Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics.

Few weeks back, right before the holidays, A very nice human being at Lush Middle East decided to send me an entire gift box filled with their new winter collection products. Now it only made sense for me to post an extended review once I tried each and every one of them.

However, taking into consideration my love for lush products since my trip to their store on Oxford street in London, I wanted an unbiased opinion on these from another human being. Well, that’s where my mom comes into the picture! She’s one who cannot be easily impressed. So, we decided to take an average of both our ratings and pass our final verdict.

Jolly Belly Shower Jelly (AED 50.40/100g)

Overall Rating – 4.0/5

The first product I decided to try was the ‘Jolly Belly’ shower jelly. Fascinating name, isn’t it? Made using a mixture of 17 exquisite ingredients like fresh apple juice, neroli oil, rose, star anise and many more, this was something that gave us an explosion of fragrance when we opened the container. Step out of the shower and prepare to turn a lot of heads trying to figure out where that beautiful smell is coming from.

Bubbly Shower Gel (AED 115.50/250g)

Overall Rating – 3.5/5

For someone who prefers things which are citrusy, this just might be the best thing that has ever happened to you. An infusion of sweet wild oranges, lime oils, vine leaves, fresh grape juice. the list is practically endless. But for my liking, the fragrance is a little too tangy. The gel seems to do a fantastic job in conditioning and soothing your skin though. Let’s you leave the bath tub feeling quite refreshed.

Mintingle Body Conditioner (AED 103.95/100g)

Overall Rating – 4.0/5

I’m sure by now you’ve all realized that pretty much every single lush product contains wild ingredients and the Mintingle body conditioner is no stranger to this theory. Comprising of ingredients that are out of the world like murumuru butter, peppermint oil, shea butter, grapefruit oil, menthol crystals which leaves an extremely minty feeling on your skin and boy does the scent last long. Problems such as body odor are a thing of the past.

Happy Hippy Shower Gel (AED 115.50/250g)

Overall Rating – 3.0/5

Now this is an extremely grape dominated gel with grapefruit water, grapefruit oil, and even fresh grape juice infused with bergamot oil. However, compared to the other shower gels I used, this seemed a little tad too plain. The scent wore off from my body a little earlier than expected. Though lush claims this is more like a breakfast boost for your body, if you’re looking for something stronger on the fragrance side, nothing beats Lush’s Berry Berry shower gel as highlighted below.

Berry Berry Shower Gel (AED 131.25/250g)

Overall Rating – 4.5/5

Few things in the world make me very happy. Berries are definitely among them. As lush describes on their website, with festive cranberry infusion and rejuvenating blueberry juice, your skin will feel vibrant and refreshed. They weren’t kidding. The wild orange oil definitely adds a punch to it. With a total of 15 ingredients, some of which I can’t even pronounce properly, you simply can’t go wrong with ‘Berry Berry’. On the downside, though, you might just end up spending a lot of extra time in the shower – because of its awesomeness!

Overall, I was quite impressed with Lush’s new collection of products and would definitely recommend visiting one of their stores at all popular malls to try them out. They definitely make you feel younger with that ultra-smooth skin for a completely rejuvenated look.
