With so much advancement in smartphone technology, one particular area that’s still a hurdle for smartphone makers is the battery life. Even with the best (read: expensive) of smartphones available today, you are lucky if the battery stays for the second before it needs charging.

One way most of us, including me, try to overcome this battery life problem in smartphones is by carrying a power bank. However, my luck with both freebie power banks as well as bought ones are bad. They simply stops working when you need them the most.

Say hello to the Mother of all phones – the newly reincarnated legendary Nokia 3310. At least your battery problem is solved with this new feature phone. With almost a day of talk time and unto a month standby,  Nokia 3310 could be a life saver!

Unveiled earlier this year at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the incredible and practically indestructible Nokia 3310 came into being back in 2000, and is noted for its great games, including Snake and Space Impact. It sold more than 126 million units.

Here’s the photo comparison of the old Nokia 3310 and the new one.  Clearly, the latest Nokia 3310 phone combines superior craftsmanship, distinctive design and powerful entertainment features, giving the ability to use the phone, my way.

One funny thing that I always did especially when among friends or when in a meeting is to purposely flash my new Nokia 3310.  Surprisingly, the curiosity generated from people when they see the Nokia phone is the same as if I had the latest Apple or Samsung smartphone. I guess it’s the nostalgia!

However, some of my friends told me that when they went to buy the phone at the stores, it was out of stock – implying there is still considerable demand for this feature phone even during these times of smartphones from Apple and Samsung ruling the world.

So, will I replace my smartphone for Nokia 3310? definitely no. Smartphones and Feature phones serves different purposes and different market segments.

The Nokia 3310 is an excellent choice to be used as a secondary phone, and comes in quite handy especially when you are traveling. Just like the once legendary company’s tagline ‘Stay Connected’, the new Nokia 3310 truly lives it up to it.
