Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia have entered into a strategic partnership; which will allow both the airlines to sell tickets and seats on each other?s international and domestic flights. With this code sharing agreement; passengers may purchase a seat with Virgin on a flight operated by the Singapore Air.
This code sharing is aimed at connecting Singapore Airlines? international network with Virgin?s routes within Australia and the Pacific.
“It will enhance the attractiveness of Australia as a travel destination while also opening up new horizons for travelers from Australia,” said Singapore Airlines head Goh Choon Phong.
Virgin Australia has been looking for partner in Asia after forming alliances with Delta Airlines, Etihad and Air New Zealand.
The deal is subject to regulatory approval.
