Starting from today, July 15th 2011 leaving flyers on parked cars (in public places) and at door steps is banned in the Dubai emirate.

Abdul Majeed Abdul Aziz Al Sifai, Director, Waste Management Department, DM, said (to a local newspaper), “The crackdown on cheap advertising is part of a new anti-littering campaign to be launched next month. The civic body would start fining the culprits from July 15.”

It is learnt that the municipality has been receiving complaints about part time housemaids, pest control companies, massage parlors and eateries dropping pamphlets in doorsteps. This form of advertising is considered illegal in the emirate.
