Souq.com woos customers with its humorous advertisements as it unveiled its version of Black Friday
The Middle East has borrowed the concept of Black Friday from the West, but has coined it as the “White Friday”. Of course a lot of advertising has gone into this. After all this is being touted as one of the busiest online shopping events of the Middle East with over 10 million visitors.

Black Friday has officially hit the Middle East with Souq.com releasing a sneak peak of some of the White Friday deals that will be on offer on its site on the 27th and 28th November.

How is Souq.com attracting customers?
There is no humour in that but yes, announcing direct discounts on popular products is one sure shot way to grab eyeballs. However, we are seeing a shift towards credit card usage, as consumers in this region are starting to become more comfortable with online payments. We’ve developed the partnership with MasterCard to further shift the needle towards credit card payments online,” said Ronaldo Mouchawar, chief executive officer and co-founder of Souq.com.
Secondly, it has tied up with MasterCard and is offering a further 15% discount on credit card transactions.
It also partnered for an exclusive sales preview in its mobile app with PepsiCo.
