Indian superstar actor Rajinikanth along with co-stars Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson joined music composer A.R.Rahman, producer Allirajah Subaskaran and director S. Shankar at the Burj Al Arab for a press conference ahead of the audio launch of 2.0, India’s biggest-budget film to date.

In true Bollywood style, the actors arrived in a helicopter and made their way to the venue, offering the audience a glimpse of the exhilarating movie-making experience. Shot entirely in 3D with a production cost of US$90 million and Hollywood stalwarts such as costume designer Mary E. Vogt and stunt coordinator Kenny Bates associated with it, 2.0 promises to herald a new age in Indian cinema.

A.R.Rahman pointed out that he had attempted to translate his global music experience into his work in 2.0, while Akshay Kumar expressed excitement at debuting as a villain in a Tamil movie. Admiring the film’s exceptionally high production standards, Amy Jackson recounted anecdotes of working with the legends of Indian cinema. For his part, S. Shankar shared his vision for the larger-than-life movie, triggering a wave of anticipation for the early-2018 release among the audience.

The audio launch of 2.0 is expected to draw over 6,000 people to Burj Park in Downtown Dubai on 26 October to get up close with some of their favourite celebrities.
